::Talents Bayou::

Last night MBU was rockin with the sweet sounds of talented people. It was the eve of our Fourth Annual Talent Show. The chapel was decked out with the colors and spirit of Mardi Gras and everyone was in the mood for a good show and MBU didn't disappoint. I'm very proud of those who let their art shine and to the judges who spent their time watching some crazy college kids. The winners of the night were::
1st: Maukiesh Howard
2nd: Jared Chapa
3rd: Junior Hines

::As the LUV runs dry::

I hope you enjoyed the jam packed week that we at MBU like to call "LUV'D week". This was the first year for this week long Valentines extravaganza. We hope that your valentines week was "Lightened" and you had tons of fun. We had great attendance at our last event of the week which was the "Dating Game". The entire cafe was invested into all of the commotion going on and kept each diner at the edge of their seat. Thank you to all who helped make this week amazing.

::Year of the Ox::

Today those at MBU we celebrated the Chinese New Year. There was music, crafts and food available for all who attended. The students laughed, listened and enjoyed all of the festivities that were offered. This is the first time that Student Activities sponsored a cultural event and you will definitely see more of these in the future. So keep your eyes open!

::Makin' Leaders::

Student Activities thrives on the vivacious leaders that initiate many of the events that the entire student body enjoys. However there are times that these leaders need to be refreshed and revived to make it through another semester. That is exactly what we did this past weekend. Twelve leaders traveled to Galena, Illinois to enjoy the spectacular beauty and winter sports that this town holds. We stayed at The Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa and had a wonderful time. We started out with announcing our new leadership for this semester and then went to a nice dinner. We continued our concept of leadership through nightly devotions which evolved into great discussions on practical ways we can impact our University. During the day we had our fill of winter sports like cross country skiing, ice skating and sledding. Thanks to all who were thinking about us and praying that this time would be beneficial to all.

::Why So Serious?::

Once again we packed tons of Mobap students, 55 to be exact, in our favorite coffee spot, the Perk, for some movie watching fun. The movie of choice was The Dark Knight, and kept everyone on the edge of their seat. The free popcorn and soda satisfied all needs of hunger that is experienced during a movie. So next time you have the itch to watch the newest hit movie then come and join us, as we aim to please.

::ThePerk:the event::

As said by the promotion, This event is the diggity of all diggities and the promotion is not false. ThePerk: the event, is the biggest event all yearlong and is put on by Student Activities along with many other departments of MBU. The gym is converted into a super hip coffeehouse with a ginormous stage for some of the best entertainment that will be heard on this campus: the students! The best of the best come out for this night, not only will there be musical acts but there are always skits that will leave your seat wet! The night also has caffeine flowing through the night along with various desserts. Entertainment, food, caffeine and an outrageous Perk coffee mug will only set you back a measly $5.
